A BAROMETER measures air pressure. It tells you whether the pressure is rising or falling or not. A rising barometer means sunny or dry conditions, If the barometer falls it means stormy and wet conditions. .

A SLING PSYCHROMETER measures relative humidity. Two thermometers are used in a sling psychrometer. A wet cloth is placed on one of the thermometers and then you swing the psychrometer around a little. When water evaporates from the cloth, it causes the temperatures on that thermometer to be lower the the other.

A THERMOMETER measures the air temperature. Thermometers are mainly closed glass tubes that contain a liquid like alcohol or mercury. When air heats the liquid, the liquid expands and moves up the tube. A scale then shows what the temperature is.
